Maeve Callanan was born in Oxford, England and has lived and worked in the West of Ireland for the last fifty years. A graduate of the Galway College of Art & Design, she has also studied at the New York Studio School of Painting, Drawing & Sculpture. Drawing is the keystone on which her work is based. It is through the constant drawing, correcting and re-drawing that she engages and connects with her subject.
